Challenges in Reconstructive & Aesthetic Breast Surgery

Dear esteemed colleagues,

I am proud to invite you to the 8th Radboud Aesthetic & Reconstructive Round on February 20th, 2025, in Nijmegen, featuring the topic: ‘Challenges in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery’.

The concept of the Radboud Aesthetic & Reconstructive Rounds is to provide hands-on training and lectures on selected topics in plastic surgery, delivered by national and international experts. At the same time, we strongly encourage open and frank discussions among attending colleagues about our own problem cases and failures. The content is suitable for residents as well as experienced plastic surgeons who wish to expand and refine their surgical skills.

It is my great pleasure to welcome Prof. Efterpi Demiri from Thessaloniki, Greece, and Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo from Rome, Italy, to our department.

Prof. Demiri is Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki and Professor of Plastic Surgery at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is the current President of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS).

Prof. Santanelli di Pompeo is Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Sant'Andrea Hospital in Rome and holds the Chair of Plastic Surgery at Sapienza University of Rome. He was Secretary General of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) from 2014 to 2021 and its President in 2023/24.

Both key-leaders in Plastic Surgery have a primary focus on reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. Their numerous publications, lectures, and book chapters illustrate their unique expertise in this field.
